Mentored by Johnny Vidacovich, New Orleans native Stanton Moore has established himself as an exceptionally talented drummer, gathering crowds worldwide with his New Orleans-based funk band, Galactic. Moore formed Galactic in the early 1990s, a band that continues to amass remarkable crowds and tour internationally.

Moore graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor’ s degree in Music Industry. He continues to teach lessons and clinics all over the world and has written for publications such as Drum!, Modern Drummer, and DownBeat. He has launched his own signature line of symbols with Bosphorus Cymbals, as well as a signature drumstick with the Vic Firth stick company. He created his own drum company in 2009, which introduced his signature titanium snare drum, designed in conjunction with Ronn Dunnett.

Moore has proven himself as a philanthropic leader as well as a musical one. He is the leader of Tipitina’ s Music Workshop, a spokesperson for the Gulf Restoration Network, and a supporter of the Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars. Moore serves on the board of directors for the Roots of Music, an organization founded by Derrick Tabb, the drummer of Rebirth Brass Band. Additionally, he and his wife Aletta have started the Staletta Fund, a scholarship program which pays for aspiring students to attend jazz camps, auditions, and to further their education.
