Bayou Boogaloo 2011

May 26, 2011

This year we were honored to sponsor the 2011 Bayou Boogaloo.

The festival has been taking place on the banks of Bayou St. John in Mid-City near the end of May for 6 years now. Local Artists were selling everything from jewelry to parasols. Typical to New Orleans, there was too much amazing food to choose from. By the end of the weekend we had tasted everything from jerked chicken to alligator sausage on a stick. The music filled the air, families and friends sat on blankets and danced to the beats. We saw Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Sandra Bullock and Wendall Pierce all enjoying the festival as “locals” sans paparazzi. It was a beautiful weekend and we made lots of new friends bonding over our shared love of music.

Featured on the Positive Vibrations Foundation stage:
Bonoffs, Tuba Skinny, Jane Harvey Brown Trad Jazz Allstars, Big Chief Alfred Doucette, Pinettes Brass Band, Guitar Lightnin’ Lee, Lagniappe Brass Band, Paul Soniat, Washboard Chaz Blues Trio, Kristin Diable, Monk Boudreaux’s Golden Eagles featuring Billy Iuso, and Khris Royal and Dark Matter.
